Through the Mountains

the story behind the art: This piece was soothing to create even though I didn’t know how it would turn out. One of my favorite canyons in Utah to drive through is Provo Canyon and for some reason this piece reminds me of the feeling I get while driving through that canyon. I love painting mountains and looking at the various shapes and then interpreting them onto a canvas or wooden board.

The title comes from the saying “the only way is through.” It’s been a, shall I say meaty, growth promoting year. And, I was in the thick of it traversing metaphorical mountains when I sat down to paint these mountains. I hope that you will remember that there is always a way through and that you will make it to the other side.
